BIG NEWS: EPSON PRINTERS HAVE A TIMER TO MAKE YOUR INK EXPIRE. If you own an Epson printer, this will interest you. No doubt, Epson printers are the best printers in the world as far as quality goes, IMHO. Though, there is a problem. On the bottom of every Epson cartridge there is a chip that once activated will set off a timer that will limit the amount of time your cartridge is good for. Several times I've purchased an ink cartridge, barely used it and about 4-5 months later my printer tells me that I'm out of ink! I just figured that my ink "dried out" - go figure - I made that up and was just content with it figuring that new ink is a fact of life - like Death and Taxes. If you have purchased an Epson printer in the last 7 years, you may be entitled for some money as a result of a class-action suit against Epson. Using Chip Resetting software you can reset your ink cartridges to make them last. If this is not enough, you can even purchase a module that you connect to your cartridge to reset your inks. The best bet is the Chip Resetting Software as it allows you to Hop-Swap your inks with your Epson printer and has better utilities than the standard Epson Utilities that comes with the printer.
